Six players from the Lamar Community College Runnin' Lopes were given Region 9 All-Region Awards in recognition of their outstanding play during the 2018-19 season. Five players, Lincoln Chote, Jaxsen Davis, Skyler Nelson, Tyler Ruetschle, and Tanner West, all earned first-team awards. Devin Ferrari earned second-team honors.
Lincoln Chote, a sophomore from Aurora, CO, earned his award while playing second base. Chote recorded 64 putouts and 97 assists for the regular season. He recorded 70 hits including nine doubles and three home runs.
Jaxsen Davis, a redshirt sophomore from Plano, TX, played left field for the Lopes. Davis hit .388 with 10 home runs and 44 RBIs. He also managed to acquire a .460 OBP with a .665 slugging percentage.
Skyler Nelson, a sophomore from Amarillo, TX, is normally the starting catcher for the Lopes. Nelson hit .357 with 12 home runs and 42 RBIs. He recorded 13 doubles and stole 17 bases.
Tyler Ruetschle, a sophomore from Durango, CO, is a right-handed starting pitcher for the Lopes. Ruetschle started 14 games with a record of 9-4 and an ERA of 4.09. He induced 123 strikeouts over the season which placed him at a very impressive fourth in the nation for NJCAA Division I.
Tanner West, a sophomore from Albuquerque, NM, is a left-handed starting pitcher for the Lopes. West started 15 games with a record of 8-6 and an ERA of 2.64. He recorded 96 strikeouts against 32 walks and 53 hits. West also recorded four complete games.
Devin Ferrari, a sophomore from Farmington, NM, played right field for the Lopes. Ferrari recorded 71 hits that included 15 doubles, 2 triples, and 11 home runs for an average of .336. He had 10 stolen bases and was only caught once.
