Softball announces 2019 recruiting class

With just three days until the official start of the 2019 campaign, the Lamar Community College softball team announced its next recruiting class, which would take the field for the 2020 season. 

The Colorado-heavy class features 10 players from the Centennial State, two from Oklahoma and one from Texas. Positionally, the class breaks down to five infielders, three outfielders, three catchers and two pitchers.

"I am excited for this recruiting class to come in. We have brought in very strong hitters to add with our speed from this year," LCC head softball coach Kristen Silva said. "We have also added two strong pitchers to our current pitching staff which we will continue to build in the circle."


Annahy Pesina - Outfield - San Antonio, Texas

Pesina was the first of thirteen  LCC signees for the 2019-2020 squad. The Texas native will bring a powerful bat and strong arm to the outfield for the Runnin' Lopes next season.


Julia Shippley - Corner Infield - Wheat Ridge, Colorado

Shippley is an offensive minded corner who hit .459 with 40 RBI's in her senior season, helping to lead her team to the state tournament and received 2nd Team Jeffco All-Conference  honors.


Katerine Dunson - First Base - Golden, Colorado

Dunson is a strong hitting first baseman, adding another explosive bat to the 2019 recruiting class. Katie hit .375 her senior season,  helping her team to a 20-7 finish and received 2nd Team Jeffco All- Conference  honors. 


Dailee Danielson - Pitcher - Leedy, Oklahoma

Danielson is one of two additions to the LCC pitching staff for the 2019-2020 season. Dailee is an Oklahoma native who will bring strength and control in the circle for the Lopes next year.


Mason Togher - Corner Infield - Fort Collins, Colorado

Togher is another hard hitting corner to join the Runnin' Lopes Roster. Mason is athletic and versatile on either side of the infield and boasts power at the plate.


Skyla Copeland - Outfield - Shawnee, Oklahoma

Copeland is the second Oklahoma native and outfielder to join the LCC squad next season. Skyla is a dynamic player on the grass with a strong  arm and explosive bat.


Leah Rivera - Catcher - Pueblo, Colorado

Rivera is one of 3 catchers for the Runnin' Lopes next fall. In her senior season, Rivera hit .388 with  28 RBIs, helping lead her team to the state tournament.


Madi Robertson - Utility - Falcon, Colorado

Robertson is an well rounded catcher/utility player who can also swing the bat. Madi hit .466 her senior season, with 26 RBIs and will contribute quickness and athleticism to the LCC roster.   


Sam Hermosio - Middle Infield - Falcon, Colorado

Hermosio is the second addition from Falcon High School. Sam is an aggressive middle infielder who batted .443 her senior season, driving  in 24 RBIs for her team.


Sheridan Wayne - Pitcher/First Base - Colorado Springs, Colorado

Wayne is the second pitcher to join the LCC pitching staff next year. Sheridan will also contribute at the plate, batting .536 her senior season with 40 RBIs and receiving 2nd team Gazette Prep all conference honors.


KT Hoffman - Outfield - Aurora, Colorado

Hoffman is the final outfielder added to the Runnin' Lopes roster for the 2019-2020 season. KT is an offensive threat, hitting .430 her senior season with 37 RBIs and received  All State Honorable Mention Honors.


Sheridan Choat - Middle Infield - Lamar, Colorado

Choat is an athletic and gritty middle infielder with an aggressive bat. Sheridan hit .494 her senior season, driving in 22 RBIs and received  All-State Honorable Mention


Katie Russell - Catcher - Aurora, Colorado

Russell is the final catcher to join the LCC squad next season. She will provide strength behind the plate, and power in the box for the Lopes. Katie hit .500 her senior season with 18 RBIs and received All State Honorable Mention Honors.
