Bio

Robert Patterson brings more than five decades of experience to his role as head coach of the men's golf team at Lamar Community College. He began playing the game at six years old and recorded his first hole-in-one by age twelve. A noticeable talent early on, Robert was recruited by Arizona State University during his sophomore year of high school.

Following his academic years, Robert proudly served six years in the military before turning professional in 1988. His career has taken him across the United States, competing in numerous tournaments both as a professional and an amateur. He holds multiple club championships, maintains the course record at Wasco Valley Rose, and has claimed titles at several annual tournaments.

Robert has dedicated many years to teaching the game of golf to adults, youth, and children with special needs in Southern California. He has run successful youth golf camps and provided private instruction, helping to grow the sport at the grassroots level.

With a passion for mentorship and a deep understanding of the game, Coach Patterson is committed to developing student-athletes both on and off the course. He looks forward to building a strong golf program at LCC and guiding his players toward success in the classroom, in competition, and in life.
