Bio

Dave Tecklenburg brings more than 30 years of experience in public education and athletics to the LCC Volleyball program. A native of Fowler, Colorado, he and his wife of 35 years have lived in Lamar for over three decades, where they raised their three daughters. Throughout his career, Tecklenburg served as a teacher, athletic director, assistant principal, middle school principal, and spent the final ten years as superintendent of Lamar School District. Though retired from education, he now serves as the district’s Chief Financial Officer while continuing his passion for coaching.

As a volleyball coach, Tecklenburg led his teams to three state runner-up finishes and an .800 win percentage over a 15-year span. He has coached multiple sports and contributed to the growth of athletes at all levels through individual skill development, team camps, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes programs. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, a master’s in Education, and an administrative license in the state of Colorado.

Coach Tecklenburg is deeply committed to helping student-athletes grow both on and off the court. He prioritizes fundamentals, individual player development, and academic achievement, with a strong emphasis on preparing athletes for continued success beyond their time at LCC. The goal of LCC Volleyball is to finish among the top two teams in Region IX and secure a spot in the NJCAA national tournament. Tecklenburg and his staff work to support student-athletes throughout the college experience - building skills, confidence, and a lasting sense of community within the LCC Volleyball family.
